A young couple with two children came to Unbox Design wanting more than a house — a private sanctuary their family could grow into. The site helped make that possible: a corner plot at the edge of the Delhi Ridge, offering something rare in the city — unobstructed green views from the upper floors, in every direction the plot would allow.

Given the site's generous proportions relative to a family of four, the design leans into scale rather than shrinking from it — conceived almost like a vertical farmhouse, where space itself becomes part of the experience of living. The lower two floors hold the family's shared life: a double-height living room anchors the plan, with the dining space on the floor above overlooking it — one continuous volume rather than two separate rooms stacked apart.

The upper two floors turn private. Bedrooms, a study, and a family living-and-kitchen space sit here, deliberately set apart from the more public ground floors below. These upper levels also command the best views on the site, so glass takes over almost entirely here — floor-to-ceiling, unobstructed, letting the Ridge's greenery read as part of the room rather than scenery beyond a window.

The lower two floors face a different condition: a public street the house abuts directly. Here, a bronze metal veil takes over from glass — shading the interior, screening it from the street, while still allowing filtered views out.

Formally, the house holds two ideas in tension: the curved, soft geometry of Shakti, and the straight, grounded edges of Shiva. Together, they give Shivashakti Home, this private residence at the edge of the Delhi Ridge, its name and its logic — a house built, quite literally, around the balance of opposing forces.
