Emecon Controls Office, Delhi

Emecon Controls is an engineering consultancy, and like most engineering-led businesses, its team had grown faster than its office ever did. By the time they came to Unbox Design for this office interior design project in Delhi, the company had outgrown a workspace that no longer reflected who they'd become — or who they were trying to hire next.

The brief wasn't just "make it bigger." A growing engineering team needed a contemporary office space in Delhi NCR that gave people a reason to feel proud of where they worked — not just a desk, but a sense of ownership in the company's evolution. That's a harder problem than square footage solves on its own.

We approached the 7,000 sq ft space as a design-build project from the ground up, working through layout, materials, and detailing with the same rigour Emecon's own engineers apply to their work. Circulation was rethought so departments that needed to collaborate sat closer together. Meeting spaces were scaled for both focused technical discussions and informal team check-ins — the two modes an engineering consultancy actually runs on.

Materiality stayed restrained and precise, echoing the technical, no-excess nature of the client's own industry, while still making room for warmth — wood tones, considered lighting, breakout zones that don't feel like an afterthought bolted onto a working office.

The result is a corporate office design in Delhi that does something most fit-outs miss: it makes belonging visible. Employees don't just work at Emecon Controls anymore — they can see, in the space itself, that the company is investing in them. For a fast-scaling engineering firm competing for talent in a crowded Delhi NCR market, that's not decoration. That's strategy.
