Trade Promotion Council of India Office, Delhi

The Trade Promotion Council of India isn't a typical corporate client. As a semi-government body hosting delegates from across the world, its office interior design project in Delhi had a brief most workplaces never face: represent a nation, every single day, to visitors who are seeing it for the first time.

The design had to hold two things at once — a forward-thinking, modern office environment, and a space that felt unmistakably Indian. Neither could dominate. A space that leaned too modern would feel generic, indistinguishable from any international office park. A space that leaned too traditional would feel like a museum rather than a working institution. The 10,000 sq ft layout had to earn both identities simultaneously.

Craft became the bridge. Rather than draw from a single regional tradition, the design pulls references from across India — a deliberate choice for an organisation whose role is to represent the whole country, not one part of it. Craft elements are placed with intent, not scattered decoratively: they mark thresholds, anchor reception moments, and give delegates something to notice and ask about.

Delegate spaces were designed around a specific, practical constraint — large groups, often multiple nationalities, arriving together and needing to sit, meet, and be received comfortably at scale. These aren't standard meeting rooms sized for a typical corporate headcount; they're built for volume without losing the sense of hospitality.

The result is a corporate office design in Delhi NCR that functions as quiet diplomacy — a space where modern infrastructure and Indian craft aren't competing statements, but one continuous idea. For an organisation whose job is to put India's best foot forward on trade, the office itself had to do the same.
